Carmen Refsnes is a self taught contemporary artist, living in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and has her bachelors from Arizona State University in Interdisciplinary studies- International Business and Art History. Following university, she traveled extensively studying art and interning at Nettie Horn Gallery in London, England. Later, Chicago bound, she found her home in hospitality and spirits. Now a non drinker, her priorities are aligned with her artistic expression. Through her furious desire to paint, she explores what drives human behavior and examines the duality and multiplicity, that exists within all things. She believes that it is important to examine what we hold dear, what we let go, and to what we prescribe meaning, if we prescribe meaning at all. Please enjoy the art.
